Singapore is an amalgamation of people around the region as well as expats from the UK, USA and other places. Locals speak English and many other, regional languages.
The food is absolutely amazing!! Singapore is known as the food capital of the region for this reason. From hawker delights (where a meal cost 3 USD) to 5 star meals, you can find anything to fit your budget.
Home and car prices of amongst the highest in the region. That being said, public transport and access to public housing balances this out.
Whilst it isn't New York City, each neighbourhood is Singapore has its own unique vibe. From Little India to Chinatown, each place you go to offers a unique, immersive exposure to each culture.
You don’t have to leave Singapore to sample Thai or Indonesian food, or experience their culture. It’s just a subway ride away.
Singapore runs an efficient government. Trains run on time and it is very safe.
Orchard Road: Main, commercial area of Singapore. Good for those who want to be in the midst of it all. Quite expensive.
Holland Village: Good families offering leafy, suburban streets. Minutes from the central area of Orchard Road including all the shops.
Tiong Bahru: One of the oldest housing districts in Singapore that has its own, unique vibe featuring plenty of heritage buildings. Also not far from Orchard this is a calmer, quieter area. Some call it the Brooklyn of Singapore.
East Coast: Good for those who want to be a bit further away from it all, offering properties that often feature sea views.
